ANDY GURNETT AT TEDX FOR CHANGI AIRPORT GROUP

I have worked in learning and development for nearly thirty years. I spent a large part of that based in Asia and am now in the UK. During this time I have been lucky enough to create and deliver learning solutions for organisations such as Red Hat, Epson, Fox Media, BP, Mitsui, APEC, Changi Airport Group, YKK, Singapore Airlines, Chevron, Bloomberg, IDC, Siemens, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, Air Liquide, RBS Coutts and many more.

Running the British Council's Professional Development Centre for several years and spending two years as a Deputy Director working for the Singapore Government's Institute for Adult Learning, I developed a very clear understanding of what people and organisations need to make their learning successful. I love to see meaningful change for the people I work with, whether it be at a process level within an organisation or a sudden burst of awareness for a group or an individual. Effective change means a positive difference the next time you put the new skills, awareness or knowledge into action.

My qualifications include a degree in Electronics from the University of Keele in the UK, a post-graduate certificate and diploma in adult learning, and a number of practitioner qualifications in learning tools for team and leadership development. These include Tilt365, DiSC, MBTI, TMP, QO2, The Five Behaviours of a Cohesive Team and the Linking Leader 360 profile.

When not busy helping my clients, I can often be found roaming the streets taking photographs (www.andrewgurnett.com). As far back as 2010 I shared my ideas on creativity in photography at a TEDx Singapore event. Since then I have held many exhibitions, been a part of the Affordable Art Fair, had photographs published in a book and in an online magazine. And, bringing two of my passions together, I delivered another TEDx session, this time for Changi Airport Group on using photographs as a trigger to support workplace innovation.

Or I may be hidden away designing (not writing) books (www.benchpressbooks.com).

I can also juggle balls, clubs, knives and flaming torches and was at one time co-organiser of the British Juggling Convention. I believe I can teach anyone to juggle in about 10 minutes.
